The Language of Dreams

23.6 W x 31.5 H x 1.8 in

Artist pigment, acrylic, pencil, wax pastel, paper on Canvas.

Dreams have their own unique symbolic language that is often not easy to decipher. In this work I play with the idea of words and images that that have no immediately accessible meaning – meaning only emerges after contemplation and interpretation.

I mixed my own paint with fine art pigments which lends luminosity to the work. The collage was built over many layers of fine, dyed china paper lending depth to the painting.
